BIO

Luis “Arturo” Gomez Escobedo (b. Merida, Yucatan, Mexico) holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) with a Minor in Ecological Practices from the California College of the Arts and is a post-professional Master of Architecture (M.Arch II) candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. His research, interests, & exploration expand across design, built, and social justice advocacy through a critical analysis of our built environment. Centered on using architecture as a tool to diversify problem-solving by collaborating, listening, and responding to social needs that go beyond our human race, and considers our ecosystems, climate, and social systems. By investigating a multidisciplinary approach that overlaps research, social advocacy, extraction practices, visualization, architectural tectonics, and mediums of fabrication, it hopes to bring forward hidden narratives, practices, and techniques that can contribute to the architecture field of practice, teaching, and archiving.
